Our appellate attorneys routinely represent clients in appellate matters. We have experience in various appellate courts in Nigeria where we represent clients who wish to engage our Firm for purposes of appeal with over 90% success rate. Whether a client has lost a case in the State High Court or Federal High Court, there are strict requirements on the timing, form of an appeal and the decision to appeal is, in many cases, a cost-benefit decision. Therefore, if a client has lost a case at trial or in pre-trial proceedings and wish to appeal, it is highly recommended that an attorney is contacted immediately to ensure that appellate rights are preserved.
Our experience in Appellate matters has helped shaped the position of the law in many cases. We have canvased novel and illuminating submission have assisted the Courts in resolving recondite legal principles. For instance, the position of the law hitherto was that where a party makes an admission it cannot ask the Court to refer the matter to arbitration in view of his admission. However we have been able to argue that consequent upon an admission parties enter into fresh negotiations, the negotiations have operated to compromise the earlier admission.
